STRENGTHENING OF TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS:
Most of the States lack adequate training facilities for fire staff. Training is vital for keeping the fire personnel professionally prepared to meet the eventualities. National Fire Service College conducts training for Sub-Officers’, Station officers and Divisional Officers besides running a B.E. (Fire) Course in collaboration with Regional Engineering College, Nagpur. The College has meager indoor and outdoor training facilities. The College is finding it difficult to cater to the over-increasing training needs of the fire Services.
SCHEME FOR UPGRADATION OF NATIONAL FIRE SERVICE COLLEGE, NAGPUR.
Government of India has approved a Scheme amounting to Rs. 205.00 Cr. on dated 8th June, 2010 to develop this College as an Institution of Excellence at new location in Nagpur. The project will be implemented through CPWD and will be completed in 2012-13. The main components of the Scheme is construction work amounting to Rs. 142.37 Cr. , Training Aids and Laboratory Items costing Rs. 58.20 Cr.. Besides this Rs. 5.00 Cr. have been earmarked for engaging an International Consultant for the construction of technical buildings and purchase of equipments.
